This is a traditional margarita, meaning on the rocks with salt. However, a few key changes in juices and liqueors make this one good enough for me to call it Mark's.
Key Procedures:
Lime, salt, and fill glasses with ice ASAP and put them back in the freezer.
Key ingredients:
Your favorite tequila (should be a gold reposado, however anejo works if you like).
Replace triple sec with Cointreau .
Replace sweet/sour and lime juice with a 5 to 1 mix of freshly pressed orange and lime juices.
I like a 2/5/1 ratio, meaning for an 8 ounce pour into a 12-16 ounce glass of ice -- 2oz. tequila, 5 ounces juices, and 1 oz of Cointreau. Shake the hell out of it and strain into pre-frozen glasses. Float with 1/4 - 1/2 oz. Grand Marnier .
